Sultan Spa Opens in Sarajevo, One of the Largest Turkish Hammams in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In Sarajevo’s Jelića Street 4, Sultan Spa has opened – a traditional Turkish hammam and spa in a modern style. With its authentic program, this place represents one of the largest Turkish hammams in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The spa is open to both men and women, who can also book private sessions to enjoy Turkish hammam services, massages, a steam room, a hydro-massage pool, and a sauna.

Sultan Spa is the second branch of the same company that operates the very successful Amman Spa & Hammam in Sarajevo, and with its authentic offerings, it makes a significant contribution to the tourism offer of Sarajevo’s Old Town.

The Turkish hammam is part of a tradition that Bosnia and Herzegovina has inherited since the Ottoman period. Once a part of everyday life, today it represents a luxury.

The opening of Sultan Spa was attended by many guests, including the Mayor of the Stari Grad Municipality, Irfan Čengić, as well as numerous cultural and business figures from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The ribbon was cut by the founder of Sultan Spa, Ema Alagić.

“The Turkish hammam is the pinnacle of the spa experience, and our city has been missing a large hammam with a touch of luxury, one that will meet the demands of numerous tourists. With the experience from our other branch, Amman Spa, we know how much this type of wellness is part of the cultural identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, offering a unique experience to both domestic and foreign visitors,” she said on this occasion.

The atmosphere was further enriched by a “costumed” sultan who arrived on a white horse to officially mark the opening of the hammam, while violinist Nerina Pajić provided the musical ambience.
